Alternate Event - Twin City Railfan Sites tour
There are a lot of
railfan interest sites in the Twin Cities to see and this tour will cover
some of them. The tour will start with a tour of the James J. Hill mansion (home
of James J Hill, the “Empire Builder”), proceed to Bandana Square, the former
Northern Pacific car shops where major passenger car overhauls were performed
right into the Amtrak era. Here you’ll return to the Twin Cities circa 1948 in
O Gauge courtesy of the Twin Cities
Model Railroad
Museum. From here we head for luncheon and tours of the station at the former
Milwaukee Road Depot, currently the Marriott Courtyard Hotel.
As of June 27th, this trip is sold out.
